Department on cooperation, reporting and promotion of human rights (DCRPHR)
Duties and responsibilities of the Department for Cooperation, Reporting and Promotion of Human Rights are:
1.1. Collaborates with national and international institutions and organizations dealing with protection of human rights and freedoms, in exercising its responsibilities, in accordance with the Constitution and legislation in force.
1.2. Informs the public on OI work through Annual and Special Reports, press releases, opinions, recommendations and proposals; organizes seminars, roundtables, conferences, meetings and various events, with national and international authorities and organizations dealing with protection of human rights and freedoms.
1.3. Summarizes Annual Report on the OI work, designs other periodic Reports as well as others on situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms, equality and discrimination.
1.4. Searches and summarizes information from Internet on activities of the counterparts and main international organizations on human rights and informs the Ombudsperson, Deputies of the Ombudsperson and Heads of Organizational Units about these.
1.5. Publishes investigations conducted on situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms, equality and discrimination in the Republic of Kosovo; informs the public on discrimination cases and undertakes measures to promote equality, human rights and non-discrimination.
1.6. Calls on attention on human rights and efforts to combat all forms of discrimination through awareness rising, especially through information and education via training, direct contacts with law enforcement bodies and media.
1.7. Provides recommendations to the competent authorities of the Republic of Kosovo on matters relating to promotion, development and protection of human rights and freedoms, equality and non-discrimination.
1.8. Undertakes necessary measures to promote and support the right of access to official documents.
1.9. Interacts and collaborates with social partners and non-governmental organizations dealing with equality and non-discrimination issues, as well as similar national bodies.
1.10. Prepares and manages various projects which aim at increasing the awareness of public and institutions on Ombudsperson Institution mandate.
1.11. Urges support by donors and coordinates international projects and funds.
1.12. Participates in seminars, conferences, visits abroad aiming capacity building and acquisition of best practices, as well as in joint projects in the field of protection and promotion of human rights and freedoms.
The Department is run by Director of the Department, which responds and reports to the Ombudsperson or Deputy Ombudsperson.
