Pristina, September 30, 2026 – The Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj, met with representatives of civil society organizations who are members of the Dialogue Forum between the Ombudsperson Institution (OI) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

The Ombudsperson presented the Institution’s activities and undertakings in line with the objectives set out in the Dialogue Forum’s Work Plan, highlighting the areas of work and the results achieved. The presentation served as a basis for an open and constructive discussion with civil society representatives regarding the issues addressed and the next steps for strengthening cooperation.

The discussion focused on various issues impacting human rights and freedoms, providing an opportunity to exchange views and identify areas requiring further engagement. In this regard, the importance of ongoing cooperation between the Ombudsperson Institution and civil society organizations was emphasized, particularly concerning the early identification of issues and their resolution through institutional mechanisms and joint dialogue.

The forum’s main objectives are: advancing respect for and the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Kosovo; identifying and addressing instances of human rights violations; promoting the work of the Ombudsperson Institution and civil society organizations active in the field of human rights; and engaging in joint advocacy for the implementation of recommendations made by the Ombudsperson Institution and civil society organizations.
