The Ombudsperson discussed children’s rights with the Capital Children’s Assembly

Pristina, 1st of June 2026, the Ombudsperson hosted representatives from the Kosovo Centre for Gender Studies (KCGS), in cooperation with the Capital Children’s Assembly, in a meeting with the aim of promoting direct dialogue between children and institutions.

During the meeting, issues related to child well-being, school safety, violence reporting mechanisms, online violence and the creation of safe and inclusive environments for all children were discussed.

This meeting was particularly important for advancing the right of children to be heard and to participate in decision-making processes that affect their lives, in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Ombudsman Institution reiterates that children should not only be beneficiaries of public policies and decisions, but active participants in their drafting, implementation and monitoring.

The Ombudsman Institution remains committed to protecting and promoting children’s rights, supporting initiatives that empower their voice and ensure their meaningful involvement in issues that directly affect them.
