Prishtina, 3 October 2025 – The Deputy Ombudsman, Mr. Basri Kastrati and the Director of the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture (NMPT), Ms. Shqipe Ibraj Mala, received on Tuesday a delegation of TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange), a delegation of the Police Oversight Evaluation Mission.

Mr. Kastrati presented to them the role and mandate of the Ombudsman Institution and spoke about the number of complaints received by the OI, and in particular about complaints received from citizens against the Police.

The European delegation was also informed about the work and activities of the NMPT, the handling of complaints and reports issued after monitoring, as well as the investigation of cases and the handling of cases ex officio.
