Prishtina, 18 July 2025 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Ms. Vjosa Osmani, today received the Ombudsman, Mr. Naim Qelaj, in a meeting. The meeting discussed the current state of human rights in the country and the challenges faced by the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

President Osmani emphasized the importance of close inter-institutional and international cooperation in guaranteeing and promoting human rights for all citizens, without distinction. She emphasized that institutions must be committed to implementing the recommendations of the Ombudsman, as a key tool for strengthening the rule of law and advancing human rights.

The Ombudsman informed the President about the most frequent issues addressed in this institution. Both parties agreed on the necessity of continuing cooperation in order to protect fundamental human rights in Kosovo.
