Pristina, July 19, 2024 – People’s Advocate, Mr. Naim Qelaj hosted the president of the Chamber of Advocates of Kosovo, Mr. Besnik Berisha.

Mr. Qelaj emphasized that the Chamber of Advocates of Kosovo (KAA) has an important role in the processes of genuine construction in terms of the rule of law in the country. He added that coordination and cooperation with the KCA will progress further in improving the protection and promotion of human rights.

The People’s Advocate said that he has received a number of complaints from lawyers on matters of principle and general matters within the functioning of the judiciary and related to the respect of human rights. He also said that he has come out with opinions as a friend of the court, expressing the positions of the People’s Advocate in relation to the cases where complaints have been filed.

Mr. Berisha also underlined the importance of cooperation with the People’s Advocate Institution. He said that work is being done on researching the needs of lawyers in terms of training in order to have continuous advancement of lawyers with the best international practices.
