Prishtina, May 29, 2024 – At the invitation of the Organization for the Improvement of Quality in Education (ORCA), the Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj, participated in a meeting with students of public universities in Kosovo, which was held within the Congress of Student Activism.

The Ombudsperson discussed with the students about basic human rights and freedoms, the challenges faced by the students, student-professor relations, quality in education, sexual harassment, problems with the infrastructure, including hygiene in the common university spaces.

In this discussion with them, Mr. Qelaj added that the Ombudsperson has continuously attached special importance to the right to education, where in the last two years alone he has issued seven reports on various aspects of the right to education.

Emphasizing the fact that the Ombudsperson’s Institution has almost never received complaints from students about their problems, Mr. Qelaj encouraged them to do so in the future, either electronically or physically.
