Pristina, December 7, 2023 – Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj held a lecture on Thursday with the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the “Fehmi Agani”, Public University in Gjakova.

First he met Mr. Drilon Bunjaku, Rector of the University of Gjakova, Mrs. Nazli Tyfekqi, Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation and Projects, and Mr. Arben Boshnjaku, Vice-Rector for Research and Scientific Research, Academic Development and Quality Improvement.

The Ombudsperson first explained to the students about his mandate and competencies in the protection of human rights and areas of responsibility based on the Law on the Ombudsperson.

Mr. Qelaj described in practical terms the acceptance of a citizen’s complaint and the treatment process. He also spoke about the types and number of complaints that the Ombudsperson receives within a year.

During the discussion, those present raised some issues that preoccupied them, such as slopes and physical obstacles, tests at the faculty for blind people, other problems in education, the conclusion of the contract, and others.

It is worth noting that this meeting was planned and was carried out within the framework of the concretization of cooperation based on the Memorandum of Understanding between IAP and UG (no. 01-207-3), dated February 12, 2021.

The University of Gjakova has a cooperation agreement with the Ombudsperson with which they promote work together in the spirit of equality, transparency, facilitating participation in the development of the necessary capacities in the direction of scientific studies and their application.
