Ombudsperson and UN Women visited KEDS company
Pristina, June 15, 2023 – The Ombudsperson and representatives of UN Women, visited the Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company in Kosovo (KEDS).
This visit was carried out in the framework of the activities of the Advocacy Task Force on Gender-Sensitive Standards for Safety and Health at Work, whose main goal is to advocate for the fulfillment of the rights of employees from a gender perspective in the work relationship, and the respect of many factors that provide employees with a safe and healthy workplace environment.
They were received by the Chief Executive of KEDS Mr. Alpin Doğan, who recently informed the Ombudsperson of the measures and principles installed within the KEDS regarding gender representation at management levels, equality in the workplace, health, safety and well-being of workers, suitable working environments , risk assessment, education and training programs for career advancement.
As part of this visit, the Ombudsperson also visited the employees of the functional Departments within KEDS, such as: PR Department, Department of Operation and Operating System, Budget, Procurement, Call Center, Energy Trading and Customer Service , the Energy Zone, etc.
As part of visits of a similar nature, the Ombudsperson will also visit other businesses in the country.
