The Ombudsperson’s Institution joins the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children
Pristina, 22 September 2022 – The member states of the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC) on Wednesday, at the Annual Meeting of the General Assembly, voted in favor of the membership of the Ombudsman Institution (OI) as an associate member.
This network consists of member states of the Council of Europe and aims to promote and protect children’s rights and work on strategies for the fullest implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The European Network of Ombudspersons for Children also serves for capacity building and professional support among members, to promote the creation of independent institutions of children’s rights and to provide support for such initiatives.
The membership of the OI in this network makes it possible for the voice of the children and youth of Kosovo to be heard at the international level, and will offer the children of Kosovo more support and guarantees towards the fulfillment of their rights .
The membership of the Kosovo Ombudsman Institution in this network is another success for this institution and is added to the long list of its other memberships in international structures for human rights.
OI expresses its gratitude and thanks to the Albania’s Ombudsman for supporting our institution in this process.
