Ombudsperson talks with youth about better protection of their rights
20/12/2021
Pristina, 20th of December 2021 – A fruitful and inspiring discussion with young people about the draft brochure for the internal regulation of the Ombudsperson Institution for receiving and handling children’s complaints.
This booklet will be distributed to Kosovo children to understand their rights better and simpler. Youngsters made a great contribution by offering their views on human rights, whilst some were interested in the mandate and the work of the Ombudsperson. Also, they were interested about the number of children’s complaints to the Ombudsperson, the forms of addressing the concerns that protect the interest of children and they are not violated.
The Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj said that more work should be done with children in order to inform them about their rights, and address their concerns freely to institutions.
The event was supported by the European Union office in Kosovo, “EU support for the Ombudsman Institution”.
