
The Ombudsperson’s from region met civil society in Pristina
Pristina 2nd of December 2021 – The Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj invited civil society organizations in discussion with his counterparts from Tirana, Mrs. Erinda Ballanca and Mr. Naser Ziberi, the Ombudsperson from Northern Macedonia, and the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, Mr. Robert Gajda from Tirana.
Mr. Qelaj said that the work of non-governmental organizations is helping a lot in improving human rights by bringing change through their activities. He added that next year is dedicated to people with disabilities and that the Ombudsperson’s Institution will increase cooperation with civil society organisations in promoting the rights of this community.
Mrs. Erinda Ballanca, Mr. Naser Ziberi and Mr. Robert Gajda shared their views about the cooperation with civil society organizations in their respective countries, claiming that their work is an important factor in strengthening democracy.
Representatives of NGOs presented the activities of their organizations, pointing out the progress and challenges in their work. The debate also included the greater need for networking of organizations in these three countries. These representatives express gratitude for the good cooperation with the Ombudsperson Qelaj and reflected on the needs and challenges in their work for the coming period.
