Prishtinë, 26 July 2021 – The Ombudsperson of Republic of Kosovo expresses his sincerest condolences to the families of the victims of the tragic accident happened in Slavonski Brod, Croatia and concomitantly wishes a speedy recovery to our compatriots injured in this accident.

On this occasion, the Ombudsperson expresses his gratitude to authorities of the Republic of Croatia for the speedy response and making available its resources and capacities in the treatment of the injured and survivors of this tragic accident.

It is time for solidarity with our compatriots involved in this accident and with their families. The Ombudsperson calls upon competent authorities of the Republic of Kosovo to seriously monitor enforcement of the relevant laws, with the main emphases on the Law on Labor and the Law on Safety and Health at Work. The Ombudsperson has endlessly monitored implementation of relevant laws related to working conditions, safety and health at work, for which he has initiated Ex- officio investigations and will come up with specific findings and recommendations for the relevant authorities.
