Tirana, June 23, 2021 – The Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj and his deputy, Mrs. Marija Radulovic, met on Wednesday in Tirana the President of Albania, Mr. Ilir Meta.

The Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj thanked President Meta for the hospitality and discussed the human rights situation in the respective countries. Mr. Qelaj was encouraged by President Meta to further intensify relations between the two respective Institutions.

President Meta also spoke about the importance of protecting human rights, which benefits the strengthening of the rule of law and democracy.
