“I hope that in the future the cooperation will be strengthened, with frequent meetings of the Ombudspersons from the region, because more or less we all face the same problems. I believe that in the coming period we must work on strengthening the capacity of institutions, as well as for greater financial independence. The exchange of experiences and good practices between the Ombudsperson’s will be of great benefit to us,” said the Ombudsperson of Northern Macedonia, Naser Ziberi.

“We are happy to be here in this meeting of the main institutions of human rights protection in our three countries. In all three countries we come from, there is a lot to do for the protection of these rights, so aware of this fact, we gathered not for official tourism, but to coordinate an agreement that will help our institutions in Northern Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania to rely on each other, to compensate for the impossibility of one with the experience of the other and deliver to our citizens a better standard of addressing their complaints against the work of authorities,” said Mrs. Erinda Ballanca, Ombudswomen of Albania.

“We have already established a tradition of cooperation between the three institutions. This meeting also aims to continue in this spirit to further contribute to our joint work. Going through the whole pandemic situation and facing many challenges, we realized that cooperation and solidarity are the two main pillars of the society. From this visit we came up with some suggestions on how we will continue to intensify our work in the future. On this occasion, we congratulated Mr. Naser Ziberi for taking the post of Ombudsperson and wished him success during his mandate,” said Mr. Naim Qelaj, Ombudsperson of Kosovo.
