Pristina, April 9th 2021 – Today, the Republic of Kosovo marks the 13th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, the highest legal act, on the principles of which the system of our country is built. The Constitution promotes the Republic of Kosovo as a state of equal citizens, where civil liberties and equality of all citizens before the law are guaranteed, clearly defines the constitutional order in preserving and guaranteeing freedom, peace, democracy, equality, respect for human rights and freedoms and the rule of law.

The Ombudsperson as an independent institution has been committed to fulfilling its constitutional role and mandate, promoting freedom and human rights, equality, the rule of law, non-discrimination, social justice, gender equality as fundamental values for democratic development of society.

It is the duty of everyone living in this country to work on the implementation of constitutional principles as opportunities for prosperity and a secure future for all of us.
