Ombudsperson submitted to the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo the Annual Report for 2020

Prishtina, on March 31, 2021 – Ombudsperson, pursuant to Article 135, paragraph 1, of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and Article 29, paragraphs 1 and 2, of Law no. 05 / L-019 on the Ombudsperson, has submitted to the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, the Report for 2020.
The annual report of the OI is a reflection of the situation of human rights and freedoms as well as a reflection of the work and role of the Ombudsperson who oversees and evaluates the work of public authorities, in terms of compliance with laws, service delivery, good administration, transparency and accountability on their part.
The report contains the findings of the Ombudsperson during 2020, regarding cases of systematic and individual violations of human rights and freedoms. The report contains recommendations, opinions, as well as proposals for undertaking measures that contribute to increasing respect for human rights, as well as the activities of the institution, in terms of promotion and education for human rights.
The Ombudsperson welcomes the review of the Annual Report by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, in a plenary session, as provided in Article 29, paragraph 3, of Law no. 05 / L-019 on the Ombudsperson.
