Pristina, December 1 2020 – The Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj received on Tuesday in a meeting Mr. Jerome Bouyjou, the representative of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

Mr. Qelaj and Mr. Bouyjou agreed that the non-response of the country’s institutions to the findings and recommendations of the UN special rapporteurs’ reports is worrying because it undermines Kosovo’s position in relation to these important organizations of which Kosovo aspires to be a member.

They also discussed joint activities focusing on the advancement of human rights, in particular a co-operation related to capacity building of human rights defenders at the local level.
