Pristina, 26 November 2020 – The Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj met with the head of the UN Women office in Kosovo, Mrs. Vlora Tuzi Nushi, and her colleagues, which was held as part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign which aims to raise awareness of injustices and call for the elimination of all forms of violence against women.

During this meeting, special emphasis was placed on the importance of empowering victims of gender-based violence and ensuring respect for the rights of victims of domestic violence. Cooperation between the Ombudsman and the UN Women office in Kosovo will be inevitable to make progress in preventing violence against women and improving respect for women’s rights in the country.
