The Ombudsman met the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo

October 1, 2020, Prishtina – His first visit, the Ombudsman, Mr. Naim Qelaj started it in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo where he was received by the President, Mrs. Vjosa Osmani.
The Ombudsman thanked the Assembly for the trust given and expressed the readiness to continue the inter-institutional cooperation in the protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms in the country.
He also congratulated the Assembly on the adoption of the constitutional amendment regarding the Istanbul Convention, calling it good news for the country in further preventing gender inequality.
President of the Assembly Mrs. Osmani, wished Mr. Qelaj success in his new task and added that the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo will be ready to cooperate with the Institution of the Ombudsman.
She stressed that the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo will be more engaged so that the recommendations issued by the Institution of the Ombudsman are implemented by the institutions.
At the end of the meeting, the President of the Assembly Mrs. Osmani presented the Ombudsman with a Constitution, as a call to engage in the protection of values and fundamental rights guaranteed by the highest legal act of our country.
