The Ombudsperson Institution launched the Human Rights Platform
Prishtinë, 10 December, 2019 – On the occasion of the World Human Rights Day, the Ombudsperson Institution launched “Human Rights Platform” available to all citizens of the country, which aims to promote implementation of human rights and fundamental freedoms,  as guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, international human rights acts and with laws applicable in Kosovo.
The Human Rights Platform has been designed by the Institution of the Ombudsperson and developed in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and was support financially by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The platform provides two guidelines, the “Guideline on Human Rights” and the “Guideline for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) concerning human rights”, which will serve to provide easier and practical access to domestic and international jurisdiction through structured links between legal instruments that directly apply to the legal system of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as to demonstrate links of Sustainable Development Goals with fundamental human rights and freedoms.
The platform provides useful information to all law subjects, including citizens, law enforcement bodies, judges, prosecutors, national human rights institutions, educational institutions, civil society organizations, businesses, students and all interested parties.
