Prishtinë, September 27, 2019 – the Ombudsperson, Mr. Hilmi Jashari, visited Primary school “Shtjefën Gjeçovi” in Janjevë/Janjevo, and was hosted by school principal and teaching staff of this school. In the course of this visit the Ombudsperson was informed regarding the work and activities conducted in primary school “Shtjefën Gjeçovi”, where school children of three communities simultaneously attend their lessons (Albanian, Creation and Roma communities).

During this visit, the Ombudsperson lectured in front of the staff and schoolchildren of this school, informing them more thoroughly about children’s rights, protection from discrimination, as well as functioning of the Ombudsperson Institution, including its work concerning complaints, best practices, but also the challenges and problems it faces daily.

Furthermore, the Deputy of the Ombudsperson, Mrs. Edona Hajrullahu, informed schoolchildren with best practices of protection from discrimination and commented on them in an interactive session with schoolchildren.
