Prishtinë, 18 July 2019 – Ombudsperson Institution, pursuant to its legal and constitutional mandate, initiated investigations related to the death of 9 years old child from Fushë Kosova, as per fulfillment of liabilities of state bodies, in circumstances when responsible  institution were notified on existence of criminal offence of physical and sexual abuse of the minor.

With reference to International Conventions as well as to the Constitution of Republic of Kosovo, actually the provision to the Right to Life, the Ombudsperson calls upon state bodies to implement state’s positive obligations to guarantee the right to life, as universal right of everyone.

Ombudsperson Institution, in some reports published earlier, addressed recommendations to responsible authorities concerning the proactive access that the state need to have towards fulfillment of positive obligations in guaranteeing the right to life of citizens of Republic of Kosovo.
