
On Universal Children’s Day, the Ombudsperson welcomed children from different schools of the country
Prishtinë, 20 November 2018 – On Universal Children’s Day, the Ombudsperson welcomed in a meeting children from different schools of Kosovo. During the meeting, the Ombudsperson urged children to make questions or raise concerns related to their rights and freedoms in our country. Children were very interested on issues which are of great concern for them, such as use of drugs by children.
The response of the Ombudsperson related to this issue was that Ombudsperson Institution is still working and investigating this issue, in the near future will public a report with the recommendations for the relevant institution.
Many questions have been raised from children concerning other issues as well, such as unlimited use of social network from children of different ages in Kosovo.
Further, other concerns addressed by the children were socio-economic conditions which force children on labor without having the opportunity to go to school. The Ombudsperson provided answers to all questions raised from children participants of this meeting.
In this regard, the Ombudsperson notified children that for any violation of their rights and freedoms at school, family or wherever they perform, they can always address the Ombudsperson Institution.
Symbolic presents were distributed to them as well as a cocktail was organized on this occasion.
