The Ombudsperson published Report with Recommendation of the National Preventive Mechanism of Torture (NPMT) related to the visit conducted in the Detention Center for foreigners in Vranidoll.

This Recommendation Report has been delivered to the following responsible authorities, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Director of Department of Citizenship, Asylum and Migration, the Director of the Detention Centre for Foreigners as well as to the Parliamentary Commission on Human Rights, Gender Equality, Missing Persons and Petitions. The same has been disseminated to media and published on OI official web page.

As per the findings of NPMT in the course of the visit conducted on 7 March 2018 in the Detention Centre for Foreigners (DCF), the Ombudsperson has prepared a Report with Recommendations which aims improvement of the situation and circumstances in this center, in compliance with the law and respective regulation, based on international standards.

Recommendations of the Ombudsperson are based on findings obtained from the visit and monitoring conducted on regular bases, related to the procedures of admission and asylum seekers’ complaint submission, guarantees against ill-treatment, contacts with the outside world as well as the right on use of free legal aid, conditions and accommodation of foreigners, health care, etc.
