The Ombudsperson submitted the Seventeenth Annual Report to the Assembly of Republic of Kosovo
Prishtina/Pristina, March 30th, 2018 – The Ombudsperson of Kosovo, based on Article 135, paragraph 1 of the Constitution of Republic of Kosovo and Article 29, paragraph 1 and 2 of the Law No. 05/L-019 on Ombudsperson, has submitted today to the Assembly of Republic of Kosovo the Seventeenth Annual Report.
OIK’s annual reporting in the Assembly of Republic of Kosovo, is reflection of the situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms during the reporting year as well as the overview of Ombudsperson’s work and the role, as an independent constitutional mechanism, on monitoring and assessment of the work of public authorities according to respect of laws, provision of services, good administration, transparency and accountability.
The Report contains findings of the Ombudsperson during 2017 concerning the cases of systematic and individual violation of human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as recommendations, opinions, and proposals for undertaking measures, which contribute on enhancement of the respect of human rights as well as institution’s activities towards human rights’ promotion and awareness raising.
The Ombudsperson welcomes reviewing of the Annual Report by the Assembly of Republic of Kosovo in the plenary session, as foreseen with Article 29, paragraph 3 of the Law No. 05/L-019 on Ombudsperson.
