The Ombudsperson, Mr. Hilmi Jashari, participated in an event organized by Council of Europe within the framework of joint EU/Council of Europe Project against Economic Crime (PECK II) where a discussion on the Protection of whistleblowers in Kosovo took place.

This event was organized on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, with the aim of raising awareness on the need to fight corruption and promoting the practice of whistleblowing. The event gathered representatives from government, law enforcement institutions, civil society and media.

Beside the Ombudsperson in this event present were also the Minister of Justice, Head of the EU Office/EU Special Representative and Director of Anti-Corruption Agency in which occasion all of them equally emphasized the role of whistleblowers in the fight against corruption and the need for the revision of the current Law on Informants.
