Within the scope of promotional activities, from 1-30 November 2017, the Ombudsperson Institution (OI) will conduct information campaign for school children (students) and teachers of primary and secondary schools, concerning the role of the OI in promotion and protection of human rights in Kosovo.
The main purpose of organizing such campaign has to do with information of school children on the role of the Ombudsperson Institution on protection and promotion of human rights as well as their opportunity, in case of human rights violation, in addressing the Ombudsperson, among others through “Know your rights “ platform as well.
Another purpose of the campaign is opportunities provided to children to be heard by OI representatives, actually to express their thoughts, stands or concerns related to different problems with which they encounter daily, not only at school but also in their surroundings.
Furthermore, the campaign aims broadening of teachers’ information about Ombudsperson Institution on protection and promotion of human rights, specifically on awareness rising related to the necessity of prevention of corporal punishment at schools.
Accomplishment of the campaign, actually information of school children and teachers on the role of OI on protection and promotion of human rights will be conducted through meetings that OI representatives will realize with school children and teachers in Kosovo primary and secondary schools, focusing particularly on those living in rural areas of the country. Promotion material will be distributed to children during the visits.
