Within the scope of the project “Strengthening of the National Preventive Mechanism of Torture (NPMT) “, a project supported by the European Council, three workshops were organized with the aim to inform institutions on the mandate and responsibilities with which the Mechanism is entrusted.

The first workshop was held in Prizren on 5 July 201, the second was organized on 28 of September 2017 in Peje and on 25 of October in Gjilan. Participants in these workshops were representatives of Detention Centers, from Police Stations, Hospital, representatives from Centre for Social Work, Centre of Mental Health, civil society, officials from EULEX and UNMIK.

At the same time participant expressed their challenges related to treatment of incarcerated persons, as well as discussed specific issues concerning the attention towards people with mental problems deprived of liberty.
