
Ombudsperson Institution participated in the Conference of National Preventive Mechanisms of Torture of the South-East Europe Network in Belgrade
The conference of National Preventive Mechanisms of Torture (NPMT) of the South-East Europe Network was held in Belgrade on 14th of December 2016, where NPM of Kosovo Ombudsperson Institution was represented by the Deputy of the Ombudsperson, Mrs. Shqipe Ibraj –Mala.
In the conclusion of this Conference, Serbia as a presiding of this network for 2017, explained that it will struggle to organize two meetings in Belgrade during the coming year while Deputy Ombudsman of Montenegro pointed out that she will do everything in her power to organize a similar meeting in Montenegro as well.
Furthermore, Ombudsman of Bosnia and Hercegovina asked for Network’s assistance in the course of NPMT establishing in Bosnia, when a similar joint meeting could be held then.
A better cooperation of NPMT was proposed in the field of migration through exchange of contact persons’ data as well as data updating within members’ contact list of Ombudsmen Network.
Coordinators of Jurisprudence and Health Care groups have been elected during the meeting in Belgrade as well as it has been agreed that Network Working Plan ought to be prepared by elected coordinators within the future period upon receiving of proposals from members of the Network till the end of January 2017, so that on the bases of proposals obtained a joint plan can be drafted.
