Mrs. Teuta Sahatqija met the Ombudsperson Mr. Hilmi Jashari
The president of the Commission of European Integration, Mrs. Teuta Sahatqija, met today the Ombudsperson, Mr. Hilmi Jashari, on which occasion, realization of Kosovo pensioners’ rights from state of Serbia has been discussed.
In the course of informing Mr. Jashari regarding Commission’s engagement concerning this issue, Mrs. Sahatqija stated: “The Commission is striving to assist the citizens in gathering of the appropriate documents as well as enable the circumstances, so that they can be in a position to address European Court in Strasbourg”. She emphasized also the need for better institutional coordination on this issue, while proposed to meet the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, jointly with the Ombudsperson.
The Ombudsperson Mr. Jashari expressed his gratitude to Mrs. Sahatqija for meeting with him as well as for her commitment in realization of pensioners’ rights.
Further, president of the Commission, Mrs. Sahatqija has been informed on lobbing that the Ombudsperson has undertaken, so that this issue is raised at the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe as well. .
Based on some principal decisions of the European Court in Strasburg, the president of the Commission, Mrs. Sahatqija and the Ombudsperson, Mr. Jashari exposed their believe on a positive epilogue in accomplishment of the right of 60 thousand Kosovo citizens from Serbia, by the end of the meeting.
In order this to be achieved, they requested coordinated engagements by all institutional levels.
