Based on public request to investigate allegations of inadequate medical treatment, Ombudsperson Institution representatives visited Mr. Sami Lustaku in High Security Prison in Gërdoc, where he is serving his sentence. During the visit they also received his medical files and court decisions concerning the case, which have been disputed in appealed allegations.

On the basis of Ombudsperson legal competences, the above claims will be investigated in accordance with international standards on human rights and the case law of the European Court of Human Rights.
