The Ombudsperson welcomed ROR children’s group
September 11, 2015 – Today the Ombudsperson Mr. Hilmi Jashari, in the premises of OI main office, welcomed the ROR -Respect Our Rights group, led by children.
During this meeting Kosovo children submitted to the Ombudsperson their wishes expected to be fulfilled up to 2030, aiming their joint promotion to the local institutions for their attainment. Children of ROR group, which has been established from the non-governmental organization Syri i Vizionit and Save the Children, informed Mr Jashari that hopes and recommendations up to 2030 of Kosovo children will unite with voices of children of the whole world and will be presented to world leaders during the General Assembly of United Nations on September 25, 2015.
The Ombudsperson, Mr. Himi Jashari, exposed readiness and willingness for support of the Institution that he leads as well as encouraged them to continue with the work that they have initiated, reminding them that doing such we will gain committed protectors of human rights, with the main emphases on the rights of children in Kosovo.
The meeting performed today with the Ombudsperson is a part of activities that Save the Children has organized within the global campaign Race for Survival, through which children demand accountability from their leaders and engage themselves seriously to end preventable child death, to enable their access to quality education and ensure that their rights are fully recognized and protected. Kosovo children have joined to this campaign making their desires a part of joint hopes of children of the entire world.
