Each year many state of the world through different activities celebrate the Children’s day, on the 1st of June. The Ombudsperson Institution (OI) has foreseen a chain of activities to celebrate this day, proclaimed as an International Children’s Day in the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in 1925 in Geneva, Switzerland. On that occasion 54 state members endorsed Geneva Declaration on Child Protection. OI activities will take place on Saturday, on the 1st of June 2013 as given below:

Time 10:00 – 11:00 – Visit to SOS Kinderdorf, Children’s Village – Prishtinë
The visit can be accompanied by media coverage but having due regard for the village’s terms.
Time 11:00-14:00 – Meeting with children in “Nëna Terezë” Square
Meeting with children will take place within 2 tents located in the main square of Prishtina. Mr. Kurteshi will meet the children personally and will be on media disposal at 12:00h in front of OI tents placed in the square.
Time 11:00-13:00 – Meeting with children in Llapnasellë
One tent will be located in Llapnasellë as well. Children, the same as in Prishtina, will be able to meet with representatives of OI.

Time 13:00-14:00 – Visit to Juveniles in Lipjan Correctional and Detention Center
Media can not be a part of the visit in this Centre but information obtained from it will be a part of media release that will be given by OI on accomplishment of day activities.

Children will be informed in general regarding the OI mandate in protection and promotion of human rights, respectively the opportunity will be given to them to be heard by the OI representatives on these occasions.
