7th of May 2013. – The Ombudsperson, Mr. Sami Kurteshi, is participating in annual meeting of International Coordinating Committee (ICC) of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) in capital of Swiss, Geneva.

One of anticipated issue in agenda of this conference is discussions regarding OI accreditation in ICC. On Monday session, Mr. Kurteshi exposed and justified the formal request for membership of Kosovo OI in this organization, which is in close cooperation with Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
In the days to come, within regional groups meetings of ICC for Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and America different issues will be discussed regarding humans’ rights and modalities of NHRIs engagement in the future. Within European group (ECC) discussions will be held concerning formal organization of the secretariat based in Brussels for setting forms, levels and methods of membership for European group in addition to issues of NHRIs engagement and identification of themes within the scope of ECC and ICC strategic orientation.
