On the occasion of marking the 12th anniversary of its establishment organizes range of activities that will focus on concerns and sensitive issues from the prospective of Human Rights.

On this occasion, we invite media to cover these events and to contribute to awareness rising regarding observance of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms

The calendar of events is as follow:

19 November 2012 ( Monday), in hotel “Prishtina” in Prishtina, starting from 10:00 to 13:00 o’clock, Round table “THE CITIZEN AT THE CROASSROAD”

Challenges in enforcing the Law on Access to Public Documents, Law on protection of Personal Data and the Law on Classification of Information and Verification of Security from the institutional perspective from one side and citizens, civil society and journalists on the other side, will be the subject of a proactive discussion during this round table.

20 November 2012 ( Tuesday), from 13:00 to 14 :00, on the occasion of the Universal Children’s Day, the children of primary schools are going to visit the Ombudsperson Institution

On 20 November 1959 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. Also, on the same day, 20 November 1989, the General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Since 1999, the Universal Children’s Day marks the anniversary of a date when the General Assembly adopted these documents. This day is traditionally marked by the Ombudsperson institution.

21 November 2012 (Wednesday), hotel “Prishtina” in Prishtina, from 11:00 to 13:00 Round table “BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS”

The aim of the round table is to provide a possibility of a joint discussion between the representatives of the institutions and public authorities, representatives of private businesses, as well as the civil society regarding doing business and Human Rights. Viewing this issue from different perspectives opens possibilities of concepts that differ from one another.

Round table “AGAINST VIOLENCE TOWARDS WOMEN”

This round table is a part of activities for advocacy and public awareness against violence towards women. In this light will be emphasized the role of the Ombudsperson in struggle for gender equality and combating discrimination, as well as cooperation with the civil society and media in this respect by providing a general view regarding challenges and achievements together with the representatives of the institutions at the central and local level.
These activities are supported by the OSCE – Mission in Kosovo.
