On Friday, 1 June 2012, starting from 10:00 – 13:00 hrs, at Hotel “Sirius” in Prishtina, on the occasion International Children`s Day, the Ombudsperson Institution (OIK) organizes the round table “STOP DISCRIMINATION AGAINST CHILDREN IN THE SCHOOLS”. The round table will is supported by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo.
The round table will provide an opportunity to have a joint discussion between the Ombudsperson, Non-Governmental Organizations dealing with the protection of children, representation, children`s rights advocacy, as well the State bodies at the central and local level, regarding challenges and achievements in the field of education, comprehensiveness, safety in the schools, as well as the issue of free access for the persons with disabilities in Kosovo.
A particular point of the agenda will be the role of the Ombudsperson in combating discrimination against children and their protection.
We believe that media coverage of this round table would positively contribute to raising public awareness regarding combating discrimination against children.
