9 January 2012 – The Ombudsperson, Mr. Sami Kurteshi and the President of the Municipality of Prishtina Mr. Isa Mustafa had a joint meeting during which they focused on the situation of the residents of “Fusha e Pajtimit” neighbourhood.

Mr. Kurteshi expressed his concern regarding this issue by referring to continuous complaints lodged by the residents, as well as based on the findings during the visits that he paid to the residents living in this neighbourhood.
Mr. Isa Mustafa informed the Ombudsperson about the work done by the Municipality in order to help or provide shelter for the residents who are in a difficult social situation and also offered data available to the Directorate for Social Welfare of Prishtina Municipality regarding families accommodated in “Fusha e Pajtimit” neighbourhood.
Mr. Mustafa agreed for a joint meeting between the representatives of the Municipality of Prishtina and residents of this neighbourhood with the presence of the Ombudsperson`s representatives in order to put efforts and to find an acceptable solution aiming to shut down the camp in “Fusha e Pajtimit” neighbourhood as soon as possible. Also during the meeting, the parties discussed about the intensification of the inter-institutional cooperation.
