ROUND TABLE “PROVING WORK EXPERIENCE”
20 December 2011 – The Ombudsperson during its work has noticed difficulties regarding proving work experience for a considerable number of employees, especially during the period from 1990-1999, where majority of employees of the Albanian ethnic background were fired through arbitrary measures as a consequence of undertaking the compulsory measures. The majority of these enterprises do not exist anymore and such situation creates big difficulties, and quiet often it makes it impossible for the employees to prove their working experience through factual documents.
The Ombudsperson considers this a violation of human rights. In order to discuss on this issue, the OIK organized a round table on the topic “Proving work experience“, in which were invited relevant factors who joined a discussion regarding finding the solution for this issue, which would overcome difficulties and violations in this respect.
The round table was joined by: The President of the Oversight Board for the Kosovo Civil Service, Mr. Mehdi Geci, representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, representatives of the Labour Inspectorate Executive Body and Department of Pension Administration, representatives of the Ministry of Public Administration, as well as Mr. Ndue Kalaj from the Independent Union of Kosovo Administration and Mr. Mazllum Baraliu, who was invited in the capacity of a professor and expert for legal issues.
The recommendations and conclusions were issued, and will be forwarded to decision-making parties.
