23 September 2011 – The Ombudsperson received in a visit Mr. Nicolas Fasel from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, seated in Geneva (Switzerland) (OHCHR) accompanied by Ms. Grace Sanico Stefan, also from the Office in Geneva and Ms. Arbena Kuriu from the OHCHR Office in Prishtina.

The Ombudsperson and OHCHR officials discussed the issues related to human rights and cooperation possibilities in order to ensure implementation of the international human rights in Kosovo.
Mr. Kurteshi mentioned certain segments of the OIK work and he praised and welcomed the experience and continuous support of the international human rights mechanisms. On the other hand, Mr. Fasel expressed readiness of the OHCHR to offer support for the needs that the Ombudsperson Institution in Kosovo may have in accomplishing its mission.
