During his visit in Kosovo, Head of the Committee of Minister of the Council of Europe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, Mr. Jan Kubish met the Acting Ombudsperson, Mr. Hilmi Jashari in order to be informed about work and activities of the Ombudsperson Institution.
During his meeting with high official of the Ombudsperson Institution, Mr. Kubish was in particular interested in work and activities of the Ombudsperson Institution since it transfer into local staff administration.
Acting Ombudsperson, Mr. Hilmi JAshari, Deputy Ombudsperson, Mr. Ljubinko Todorovic, Director of the Department of Investigation, Mr. Veton Vula informed Mr. Kubish about results and difficulties the institution faced during transfer process.
Mr. Kubish highly appreciated the commitment of the Ombudsperson Institution in advancement of human rights in Kosovo; however, he expressed his concern about inadequate compliance with recommendations of the Ombudsperson Institution addressed to the Kosovo Assembly and Government, which was also evaluated at the European Commission report regarding Kosovo.
Mr. Kubish was satisfied about the trust of all Kosovo citizens to Ombudsperson Institution and stressed that it is important to safeguard the independence of this institution and promised to support in every scope about the work of the Ombudsperson Institution in the future.
