Prishtina, 14 July 2026 – A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Ombudsperson’s Institution (OI) and the Institute for Correctional Policy Advocacy (IAPK), represented by the Executive Director, Mr. Alban Muriqi.

The agreement aims to establish cooperation in joint efforts to strengthen the protection of the rights of persons deprived of liberty.

The agreement aims to prevent torture and other forms of ill-treatment and violations of the human rights of persons deprived of liberty as referred to in the Optional Protocol against Torture and Other Inhuman or Degrading Forms of Punishment (OP-CAT).
