Pristina, March 10th, 2026 – The Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj, received in a meeting the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and the Head of UNMIK, Mr. Peter Due, with whom he discussed the human rights situation in the country.

The Ombudsperson emphasized that the Institution he leads enjoys the trust of the citizens and he remains committed to the protection and promotion of the rights of all citizens without distinction.

He added that there has been direct communication with citizens and in cooperation with civil society organizations, especially at the local level, they have identified the challenges faced by citizens and the most effective addressing of the needs of affected communities.
