Pristina, 30th of September 2025 – The Ombudsman, Mr. Naim Qelaj, participated on Tuesday in a roundtable in Prizren on the topic “Wheelchair access in my city”, organized by the NGO “OPDMK”.

Mr. Qelaj emphasized that he has conducted an investigation regarding the assessment of the accessibility of sidewalks and public spaces with an impact on the free movement of citizens and respect for the right to a safe and healthy living environment.

The results of the field research highlight a series of problems that produce physical barriers, and that create limitations in free and independent access to public spaces for persons with disabilities, the elderly, parents with small children, or anyone else who may have difficulty accessing public spaces at certain times.
