Pristina, 18th of July, 2025 – The Ombudsman hosted a meeting with the Acting Director General of RTK, Mr. Hysen Hundozi, the Director of Television, Mr. Rilind Gërvalla and the Advisor to the Acting Director General, Mr. Fadil Hoxha.

The Ombudsman was informed about the problems that RTK has been facing recently, with particular emphasis on the lack of a budget for the period July – December 2025, where as a result of this lack, the salaries of RTK employees and municipal services will not be able to be realized at the end of the month.

Regarding this issue, RTK representatives informed the Ombudsman that if this issue is not resolved by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, RTK is at risk of stopping its functioning due to a lack of budget.

The Ombudsman, taking into account the importance of the role of the media in the Republic of Kosovo, as well as the right of citizens to be informed, expressed his willingness to support, namely expressed his willingness to meet with the leaders of relevant institutions in order to find a solution to overcome the emergency situation that has currently been created at RTK.
