
Kosovo becomes part of the Executive Board of the European Network of Equality Bodies (EQUINET)
Pristina, October 8th, 2025 – Upon nomination by the Ombudsman Institution, and by secret ballot, the Deputy Ombudsman, Mr. Niman Hajdari, is elected member of the Executive Board of the European Network of Equality Bodies (EQUINET).
This selection was made during the Annual General Meeting of Equinet, held in Brussels, where representatives of member institutions voted for the new composition of the Executive Board, which will guide the strategic work of the network over the next two years, 2025-2027.
This appointment constitutes an important recognition of the active role, professionalism and advanced international cooperation of the Kosovo’s Ombudsperson Institution, which has continuously contributed to the work of European networks and to the promotion of equality and human rights standards at regional and international level.
EQUINET is the leading European network bringing together 47 equality bodies from 36 European countries, which work to promote equality, combat discrimination in all its forms and strengthen the effective implementation of fundamental human rights in Europe.
Through cooperation, exchange of experiences and mutual support, Equinet aims to strengthen the role and influence of equality institutions at national and European level. The Kosovo Ombudsman has been a member of this network since 2019.
