Pristina, January 24th, 2025 – The Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj, received in a meeting the Head of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), Mr. Giovanni Pietro Barbano.

They discussed common topics arising from their mandates, engaging in the improvement of fundamental human rights and freedoms in the country.

In this context, the Ombudsperson’s Institution received a vehicle as a donation from EULEX, which will be used by the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture, which will greatly facilitate field work and activities.

Mr. Qelaj expressed his readiness to deepen cooperation in order to achieve the objectives as best and successfully as possible by exchanging the experiences of the two institutions.
