Pristina, October 10, 2022 – Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj was received on Monday in a meeting by the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Vjosa Osmani, who discussed various issues regarding the state of human rights.

One of the main points of discussion was the addressing of the problems faced by the Albanian citizens of Presheva, Bujanovac and Medvegja, in these respective municipalities but also those who live in Kosovo. The Ombudsperson emphasized that he is considering a forum that will include many shareholders who can contribute to the proper handling of these issues.

Ombudsperson, Mr. Qelaj and President Osmani also discussed Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, an important instrument for citizens in fully guaranteeing human rights, protecting freedom of expression and the media, promoting equality and the rights of minorities.
