Human Rights Platform has been disclosed to the judges.

Prishtinë, 16 January 2020– Ombudsperson Institution held an information session on Thursday in front of Kosovo judges regarding the use of Human Rights Platform and Sustainable Development Goals.

The online platform aims promotion of implementation of human rights and fundamental freedoms, as guaranteed by the Constitution of Republic of Kosovo, international human rights acts as well as with applicable laws in Kosovo, and as such will serve to Kosovo judges in their work. Judges as well as other Court’s professional staff pointed out that the platform results to be of a great assistance in their daily work.

The platform provides useful information to all law subjects, including citizens, law enforcement bodies, judges, prosecutors, national human rights institutions, educational institutions, civil society organizations, businesses, students and all interested parties.

The platform provides two guidelines that will serve to provide easier and practical access to local and international jurisdiction through structured links between legal and judicial instruments (European Court of Human Rights practice) which apply directly to the legal system of Kosovo, as well as to demonstrate links between the Sustainable Development Goals and fundamental human rights and freedoms.

On 10 December 2019 the Ombudsperson Institution in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), financially supported by Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched the Human Rights Platform.
